Production Supervisor, Online Large Format

About the role
As a Production Supervisor, you will lead and develop a team in the Bindery production area, ensuring efficient machine set-up, inventory management, and process flow for sorting, cutting, gluing, and binding printed materials. You will oversee team effectiveness, manage costs, reduce waste, and identify resource needs while serving as a subject-matter expert for new equipment training. This role includes performance reviews, staff development, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
Responsibilities
- Motivate, mentor, coach, and train employees for professional development, engagement, and a safe, inclusive environment.
- Set high performance expectations and provide feedback to ensure they are met.
- Collaborate with Production and Assembly Leads to prioritize and direct department workflow.
- Support a safe environment, driving toward zero OSHA recordables.
- Maintain high quality standards through continuous monitoring of departmental processes.
- Oversee supply levels to meet production requirements.
- Monitor work orders and establish open communication with the production floor.
- Represent and communicate corporate policy to employees.
- Ensure training compliance and maintain a skills matrix.
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and material flow.
- Implement cost reductions where possible.
- Interact with support departments as needed.
- Provide cost/benefit analysis for new equipment and train Production Leads as subject-matter experts.
- Troubleshoot production problems to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Perform miscellaneous projects and tasks as requested by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in the printing industry in a production leadership role.
- OSHA 10 Hour certification a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Gmail, Google Docs, Excel, TBG Systems, and related software/hardware.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, and kneeling.
- Perform repeated motions with wrists, hands, and gripping.
- Operate machinery, power tools, and check color quality of printed materials.
- Read a ruler to 1/16th of an inch and move around the plant area repeatedly.

Schedule
Sunday – Tuesday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (rotating 4-month schedule, occasional Saturdays).
Pay
Compensation range: $64,500.00 – $80,000.00 annually. Range reflects market conditions, experience level, and internal equity considerations.
