About the role

This position is an essential part of Sherwin-Williams’ manufacturing team. They ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of manufacturing, filling, and warehouse departments in our manufacturing facility. They provide direct management of manufacturing employees and leads and are accountable for fostering a team environment through effective and appropriate communication. They are responsible for maintaining all standards in accordance with safety, quality, inventory, and productivity levels as well as providing leadership to meet facility goals in the 5 focus areas of Operational Excellence: Safety, Quality, People, Service, and Cost.

Additional details: 12-hour night shift on a rotating schedule in a 24/7 facility. Requires union experience and up to 10% travel. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus under the Company’s applicable plans.

The role involves contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information. A criminal history review is required to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of staff and business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee receiving, shipping, warehousing, and picking operations
  • Implement operational policies and procedures
  • Ensure effective and safe use of manufacturing equipment
  • Monitor quality and productivity to ensure service and cost objectives are met
  • Plan the daily work schedule by coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments
  • Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  • Conduct regular communication meetings with the workforce to enhance BMS (Business Management System) and Operational Excellence
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future
  • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Operations function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations, or Supply Chain
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role, supervising others, or leading teams
  • Completed formal training in and/or at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, or Transactional Lean
  • At least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • Prior work experience using timekeeping and/or production control systems

Pay

Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case and will impact where actual compensation may fall within the stated wage range. The wage range listed for this role takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials.
