Production Supervisor - Newspaper Printing & Mailing
What You Will Do
- Operational Management: Oversee the evening operations of printing, mailing, packaging, and bindery, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
- Equipment Oversight: Manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of key equipment such as the SLS 1000 Inserter, Kansa Inserter, and Muller Martini Saddle Stitcher, addressing any technical issues to minimize disruptions.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet organizational standards and client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on efficiency and excellence.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency while reducing waste and cost.
- Communication and Coordination: Facilitate communication with the press crew and other departments to optimize efficiency across the plant.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe and compliant workspace by enforcing safety regulations and best practices.
- Delivery Oversight: Coordinate the preparation and staging for delivery drivers, ensuring timely dispatch of finished products.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in printing, packaging, or related operations management.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly.
- Excellent leadership skills, capable of managing and inspiring a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computers and familiarity with industry-specific software.
- Forklift certification and a valid driver's license are preferred.
