Responsibilities
- Supervise people, equipment, and processes within assigned work centers.
- Ensure team safety, morale, product quality, on-time delivery, and operational cost.
- Lead by example in safety, people, quality, production, and cost.
- Support production output by operating equipment, workstations, or assisting with material handling tasks.
- Conduct regular safety audits and perform ergonomic assessments.
- Create a positive workplace environment, foster team morale, and promote inclusivity.
- Ensure equitable treatment of all employees.
- Drive employee development through coaching, performance evaluations, cross-training, and training activities.
- Ensure adequate staff coverage for all shifts and areas of responsibility.
- Maintain product quality in accordance with company philosophy and expectations.
- Facilitate and lead root-cause investigations for defects and downtime.
- Build and adjust schedules to ensure production goals are met.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, maintain 5S and floor appearance standards.
- Account for manufacturing costs, including consumables, scrap, and direct labor/overtime.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional partners to optimize production flow.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated analytical/problem solving experience using data to drive solutions.
- Demonstrated situational leadership and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Willingness to accept change and influence policy and technical changes.
- Understanding of Lean/CI tools, 5S principles, and strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive corrective actions.
- Position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Self-motivated, self-starter attitude.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business, or related discipline from an accredited university.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity or internship role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
