About the role

The General Assembly Production Supervisor oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the chassis production line. Key responsibilities include ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate production staff to ensure efficient and effective production processes and meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to production team members, conduct performance evaluations, address performance issues, and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and inspect parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, addressing and resolving quality issues as needed.
  • Cookordination with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and adequate stock to meet production needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Document production issues and provide information to the following shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or automotive assembly.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or a related field, ideally in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications and requirements.
  • Proven ability to communicate production metrics and collaborate effectively across departments, including logistics, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Strong coaching and mentorship skills, with experience in the training and development of new team members.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy components and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work and/or train on various shifts as needed.

Pay

California Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 USD

Schedule

This role is assigned to Shift 2 / standard hours (4:30pm - 1:00am), and the shift schedule is subject to change.
