About the Company

Ultium Cells, LLC is a joint venture lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd. and General Motors. This $2.3 billion facility features the latest battery cell manufacturing technology and will be among the largest battery cell plants globally. About the Role

This position is part of a technical team responsible for engineering work focused on continuous improvement, troubleshooting equipment and manufacturing issues, analyzing production results, and implementing or improving manufacturing methods and processes. The role ensures high yield and productivity in a highly automated environment and involves collaboration with internal and external customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems. Some on-call support is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations.
• Support team members and coordinate activities of production employees.
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current outputs.
• Collaborate with other leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
• Support and train teams to inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects or malfunctions.
• Demonstrate equipment operations, safety procedures, and quality expectations to support employee training.
• Facilitate team-based problem solving.
• Monitor key performance indicators, gauges, dials, and equipment performance to ensure adherence to production standards.
• Confer with leadership and teams to resolve workforce concerns and enhance employee engagement.
• Interpret specifications, part and assembly drawings, job orders, and company policies for workers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing equipment, including a basic understanding of machine controls.
• 1–3 years of industrial or manufacturing leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from a four-year college or university; or 1–2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of quality processes and implementation methods.
• Knowledge of electricity, electrical products, raw materials, production processes, automated equipment, and manufacturing cost-reduction techniques. Experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience; supervisory experience required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Employee may be exposed to or work with hazardous materials and/or hazardous waste. Initial and annual refresher training on environmental regulations (RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC) and emergency escalation will be provided.
