Production Supervisor

Description

The Corrugator Supervisor at Smurfit Westrock is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of production within the Corrugated Container facility. Key responsibilities include:

• Executing safety briefs to team members on designated shift, daily, weekly, monthly and annually
• Maintaining a safe workplace environment by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions
• Ensuring compliance with company safety policies, safe work practices, and plant policies
• Monitoring and tracking production daily goals for the Converting machines using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting results on the plant scorecard
• Managing workforce planning, including fulfilling work schedules and adhering to attendance policies
• Communicating effectively with all functional areas of the plant to ensure production needs are successfully achieved
• Promoting positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and collaboration
• Supervising daily production activities, including oversight of team members, and monitoring performance levels of each team member
• Monitoring and participating in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and enable performance excellence

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Operations Management (preferred)
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a packaging facility (required)
• Experience working in a Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred)
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving
• Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions
• Ability to coach and train employees
• Ability to make independent, effective decisions
• Possess the ability to be a self-directed team player
• Flexibility to work multiple shifts
