Responsibilities

  • Responsible for his/her respective department and meeting department goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Develops and trains team members according to the Handbook and company policies.
  • Maintains standards and indexes necessary to control area of responsibility.
  • Provides timely feedback to superintendent on exceptions related to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety.
  • Makes sure all preventive maintenance is done on equipment in area of control and interfaces with immediate supervisor on suggested improvements.
  • Gives safety orientations and holds safety/general meetings as required.
  • Tests and develops techniques and processes on equipment as directed by superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience in the food processing industry (5-10 years).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mathematical background for performing calculations on yield, productivity, time cards, reports, etc.
  • Ability to evaluate team members fairly and objectively, with strong human resource skills.
  • Growth potential to assume more responsibility.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete/metal grate floor.

Success Measures
