About the role

The Production Supervisor will oversee all production activities and staff, motivating team members to achieve and maintain maximum production levels. This position ensures the safety and welfare of employees, process efficiency, product quality and quantity, cost control, and effective communication across all levels. The role also addresses maintenance issues and assists with daily plant operations, including Continuous Improvement activities, in a 24/7 operation with 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching: Identify and maximize coaching opportunities to promote growth and development within the Production team.
  • Safety: Promote, adhere to, and contribute to plant safety programs, ensuring compliance with Standard Safety Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Quality: Drive quality improvements by reducing waste, auditing finished goods, preparing products for warehouse transfer, and identifying Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Production: Maintain workflow by monitoring processes, setting variables, observing control points, communicating job expectations, scheduling personnel, establishing priorities, and reporting shift production summaries.
  • Personnel: Manage daily task delegation, develop training programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, conduct performance evaluations, handle disciplinary issues, and approve payroll for production operators.
  • Engineering: Collaborate with Facility Engineering and Maintenance to identify potential problems, streamline processes, and implement improvement suggestions.

Requirements

  • Three to five years' experience in OSB manufacturing or the wood products industry.
  • Solid understanding of production and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-driven with the ability to foster cooperation within and between departments.
  • Proficiency in computer use.

Schedule
