About the role

As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee all production-related activities and the day-to-day operation. Provide leadership to all assigned personnel and ensure that all safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Track line efficiencies, quality, and labor to ensure operation within budgeted guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Workforce Management
    • Provide leadership to assigned shifts, ensuring fair and consistent application of processes and procedures across all shifts.
    • Conduct daily start-up meetings, communicate goals, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
    • Train, develop, and cross-train employees to maintain a flexible and skilled workforce.
    • Address performance issues promptly and in partnership with HR and leadership.
    • Communicate regularly with plant personnel to maintain a high level of morale.
    • Communicate any issues to the appropriate management in a timely manner, including quality concerns, people issues, technical problems, and schedule impacts.
  • Production Planning & Execution
    • Ensure timely production by identifying and developing present and future capacities in manpower and equipment to meet product requirements in the most cost-efficient manner.
    • Ensure production schedules are met by deploying the appropriate resources while managing labor costs to productivity standards.
    • Track production output, scrap, downtime, and other key performance metrics; implement or support corrective actions as needed.
    • Coordinate production operations with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain Management by reviewing reports and daily operations as required.
    • Ensure accurate completion of production records, logs, and documentation.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure products meet all quality specifications; partner with Quality when nonconformances occur.
    • Work toward the elimination of scrap by evaluating causes and implementing processes that ensure required quality standards are met and maintained.
    • Ensure all departmental associates are trained and informed of all quality requirements.
    • Develop and improve production processes, systems, and procedures to maintain and enhance quality while minimizing waste and inefficiencies.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools.
    • Work with internal and external customers to improve processes, increase product quality, and strengthen productivity.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by consistently achieving product quality and on-time delivery objectives.
  • Safety & Work Environment
    • Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment (5S).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing; medical device or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with GMP, ISO 13485, or FDA-regulated environments a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with fellow team members.
  • Attention to detail and quality procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of production processes and quality standards.
  • Basic computer proficiency (ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
