Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates, trains, coaches, and supervises the daily activities of assigned employees involved in the production process of assigned products/departments/processes.
  • Ensures all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are achieved.
  • Provides clear expectations, coaching, and direction to employees.
  • Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department by utilizing manpower and equipment in the department.
  • Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for the equipment, and overall department.
  • Maintain yearly budget for the department ensuring goals are met by reducing costs related to production and MRO supplies.
  • Foster working relationships with associated departments such as EHS, Planning, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles like toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
  • Understand, communicate, and follow all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Correctly maintain time and attendance records.
  • Confer with Group Leaders and employees to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Ensure department inventory is accurate.
  • Partner with Human Resources and management when addressing grievances and disciplinary matters to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel-related matters that affect delivery and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience or production leadership
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate with all employees and deal with difficult situations as they arise, while effectively adhering to company policy and procedure
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word required
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and ISO procedures is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP Systems
  • Strong knowledge of EHS standards, Quality Control, and Production processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift, depending on the current operational needs

Compensation Details

The estimated salary range is $75,000 - $95,000 annually.
