Production Supervisor II Overview
At Toyo Tire North America, we are seeking a Production Supervisor II who can lead our high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance safety, quality, delivery, and cost while developing their team.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example to create a safe, healthy work environment
- Identify and correct unsafe behaviors and conditions
- Lead incident investigations and implement lasting solutions
- Ensure team completion of all ESH training and standards
- Drive Safety & ESH Excellence
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality systems (ISO/TS where applicable)
- Lead quality issue resolution from containment through corrective actions
- Drive Total Quality Management (TQM) problem-solving
- Maintain accurate and timely quality documentation
- Monitor production to meet safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery targets
- Optimize people, machines, and materials for maximum efficiency
- Allocate resources and adjust staffing to meet production schedules
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics
- Facilitate shift meetings, KPI reviews, and daily communication
- Keep teams informed and aligned with plant priorities and performance goals
- Lead Continuous Improvement
- Lead Kaizen and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
- Use structured problem-solving (5-Why, PDCA, Fishbone) to eliminate losses
- Translate company initiatives (ESH, 5S, Quality, CI) into actionable plans
- Develop People & Build Strong Teams
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and constructive feedback sessions
- Build bench strength through cross-training and succession planning
- Partner with Workforce Development to onboard and grow talent
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ISO/TS quality systems (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong teams
