Production Supervisor
About the role
This position oversees direct labor staff, managing their performance, evaluating procedures, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and drawings. Coordination with engineering, purchasing, operations, project engineers, quality control, and project managers is essential to meet project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise work teams in planning and executing assembly activities.
- Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff.
- Foster teamwork within the department.
- Address employee performance issues in compliance with company policies.
- Schedule, allocate, and monitor work orders.
- Align with engineering, purchasing, operations, project engineers, quality control, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Ensure projects are completed within budgeted cost and schedule while meeting all quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to redline and as-built drawing processes.
- Establish work unit objectives and standards.
- Maintain measurements for quality, schedule, and cost performance.
- Ensure timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement.
- Develop and implement standard work procedures to improve department productivity.
- Train and inform employees of new work methods and procedures.
- Maintain safe work practices, ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to HSE programs.
- Identify, recommend, and prioritize the acquisition of tools and other capital equipment to improve efficiency.
- Ensure department budgets are met and assist in preparing capital and department expense budgets.
- Develop skills and abilities of team members.
- Complete tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.
Requirements
- Heavy mechanical background experience with pumps, motors, process piping, valves, control valves, skid-based units, process skids, instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and engineering assembly drawings.
- Shop math proficiency.
- 7-10 years technical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
- 5+ years supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel.
- Ability to communicate with project engineers.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
- Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
- Exposure to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
- Safety glasses required while performing tasks.
- Ability to stand up to 11 hours a day (with a lunch break), up to 6 days a week.
- Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
