PURPOSE
The role is responsible for the overall performance of an assigned production area across all shifts. It ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations while maintaining strong leadership on the production floor. The position focuses on driving daily execution, meeting production targets, and ensuring consistent adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards. In addition, the role is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing employees, while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication across all shifts and departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Team Management - Lead all employees in the assigned area across shifts
- Maintain disciplinary responsibility and enforce standards
- Ensure shift communication and alignment
- Safety - Enforce safety rules, PPE, and environmental standards
- Maintain strong floor presence and correct unsafe conditions
- Operations - Own daily production performance and targets
- Manage staffing and resolve bottlenecks
- Quality - Ensure product quality meets internal and customer standards
- Support containment and corrective actions
- People & Performance - Ensure staffing, training, and skill coverage
- Improve productivity and reduce downtime
- Develop and coach team members
- Continuous Improvement - Identify waste and drive process improvements
- Support 5S, TPM, and standard work
- Communication - Coordinate with related departments
- Communicate priorities and performance clearly
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Alternatively, technical apprenticeship with further qualification (e.g. technician or master)
- Experience in production or manufacturing environment required
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production processes
- Leadership and accountability
- Strong communication skills
- Problem-solving under pressure
- Production process understanding
- Safety awareness

- Multi-shift leadership experience
- Leverage lean manufacturing knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE
- Location: Charleston, SC
- Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Overtime: as required
- Assignment Start: ASAP
