Production Supervisor
About the role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the execution of production plans, including blending, pasteurization, bottling and packaging, meeting product specifications, quality standards, yield and efficiency targets while developing effective and motivated teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a bottling strategy for the shift as well as a blending plan, assigning duties and schedule through Team Leaders.
- Monitor bottling and blending progress to plan, identify constraints and agree to action plans through Team Leaders and support functions.
- Regularly communicate with Receiving, Maintenance, Planning and QA to align corrective action, strategies and corrective actions.
- Develop Team Members, building competent and motivated teams to meet department objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in both bottling and blending.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation.
- Participate in developing and reviewing SOPs, including participation in daily SOP training in the pre-shift stand up meetings.
- Daily review and approval of the employee time and attendance system.
- Lead process improvement efforts for the production operation and other related processes.
- Maintain safety and quality related training of all team members up to date and document. Identify additional training requirements and arrange for training.
- Ensure employees follow all company policies and procedures, including GMPs, and all Safety and Quality requirements.
- Maintain GMP and sanitation standards in areas of accountability.
- Follows all company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs and Quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

- Flexible and Self-Motivated – Must be able to adapt to schedule, production hours, and procedure changes; Able to motivate and communicate up and down the hierarchy.
- Diligent and Focused - Must be able to find way through obstacles in order to accomplish duties and projects, which includes holding people accountable and communicating successes and pitfalls.
Experience and Key Qualifications
- Educational Background: High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
- Experience: Food or beverage production experience in a leadership role required.
- Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and understand foreign language skills, particularly Spanish, required.
- Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Manufacturing software; and general email writing and online research skills.
