About the role

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of production workers. They review and plan employee activities and job assignments based on equipment, material and supply availability. They are primarily responsible for maintaining effective customer service for all internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan and review employee activities and job assignments based on equipment, material and supply availability
  • Monitor equipment performance and requests maintenance as needed to ensure optimal production capabilities
  • Monitor performance of staff and correct or modify production schedule to ensure product meets budgetary and shipping requirements; communicate product completion information to manager or customer service
  • Review and recommend improvements to production processes by evaluating production, production lot failures and customer returns with Quality and Process Engineering
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct set-up and adjustment of machines
  • Participate in the development of annual manufacturing plans, cost saving measures on production processes and/or materials, and provide input to quality improvement teams and product release teams
  • Review and coordinate SPC use and/or implementation on production floor with engineering and production staff
  • Evaluate employee performance and complete progress and performance assessments
  • Address employee concerns and solve or work with HR to handle; resolve issues regarding job performance and/or other job-related problems by enacting disciplinary action
  • Advise and make recommendations regarding hiring, training, promotions and termination of employees
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping and handle issues with such
  • Develop, train and motivate team to ensure conformance
  • Execute processes and methods as developed by engineering
  • Review product and complete documentation to ensure no unqualified processes are released to production

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • 3-5 years of technical or process manufacturing experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • J-STD-001 and IPC-610 knowledge and certification
