About the role

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process during an assigned shift to ensure high-quality output, operational efficiency, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. This role supports and develops a diverse team of production employees and works collaboratively with cross-functional partners to meet production goals. The Production Supervisor also contributes to workforce development, employee engagement, and continuous improvement within the Production Department.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversight of daily production operations for the assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence are consistently achieved.
  • Leading shift handovers and daily start-up meetings, clearly communicating priorities, performance insights, and operational risks.
  • Optimizing labor, workflow, materials, and equipment utilization while coordinating with maintenance, process, and technical teams to resolve production issues.
  • Monitoring and analyzing production, cost, and performance data (e.g., MES, shift reports) to identify trends, remove barriers, and drive informed decision-making.
  • Supporting, coaching, and developing production team members through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, performance discussions, and targeted training initiatives.
  • Championing a proactive health, safety, and environmental culture by ensuring compliance with corporate policies, ISO standards, incident reporting, and 5S practices.
  • Partnering with Human Resources to support inclusive recruitment, onboarding, certification, and succession planning to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and standardized work development to enhance safety, consistency, quality, and operational excellence.

What You Bring

  • Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset.
  • Technical Skills & Experience: Approximately five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to safety, continuous improvement, and people leadership preferred. Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in a production setting. Experience with plastics blending and/or processing (e.g., extrusion, molding) is an asset but not required.
