About the Role

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor leads the team responsible for operational results in the Forming, Roll, Machining, and other relevant departments as determined by business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to all safety policies and audits. Promote a safe work environment.
  • Develop a productive team. Understand their needs and provide resources to achieve departmental goals.
  • Provide feedback and recognition that reinforces desired behaviors.
  • Communicate department goals and key performance indicators to the team daily.
  • Ensure that the team understands how their performance affects company goals.
  • Identify and recommend training opportunities to Human Resources and Operations Manager.
  • Assign and monitor workload for all team members. Keep department on schedule per Forman’s dispatch.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to Sales and Engineering. Participate in pre- and post-project reviews.
  • Operate equipment to supplement production needs.
  • Audit and perform “first part checks” and other forms of in-process quality measurement.
  • Interpret customer requirements on blueprints and make recommendations as required.
  • Check parts to ensure product conformity.
  • Keep all equipment well maintained.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of labor, materials, and personnel records.
  • Initiate non-conformances and corrective actions in UniPoint as required.
  • Monitor and maintain consumables inventory.
  • All other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and use measurement tools to determine product conformity.
  • Flexible.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading and coaching team members is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in handling difficult conversations and setting goals for teammates is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds.
  • Remaining in a standing or sitting position for extended periods throughout the day as required.
