We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries, leveraging advanced technologies to process scrap and dross while reducing residual waste from aluminum manufacturing.

About the role

The Production Supervisor will supervise hourly employees on an assigned shift and department, driving safety, production requirements, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and direct employees in shredder production work, including overtime scheduling.
  • Build and train a team to achieve or exceed budgeted production goals while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee production schedules and quality specifications according to customer requirements.
  • Verify inventory of raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies; enforce inventory and quality control procedures.
  • Explain and provide guidance on instructions, specifications, and job orders to employees.
  • Support initiatives and projects that drive continual improvement, foster a culture of safety leadership, and develop employees.
  • Direct efforts to comply with plant safety, housekeeping, and environmental policies.
  • Meet production schedules, quality specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain proper record keeping of shift activities.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Ensure defined procedures are followed during emergency or unique situations.
  • Safeguard all plant assets.
  • Operate the plant spectrometer as needed to ensure correct customer chemistries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage systems and procedures with minimal supervision while leading others toward plant goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, ethical, and challenge-driven.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
