Production Supervisor

About the role
The Production Supervisor leads a manufacturing production team to work injury-free and incident-free, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality goals are met. This position oversees a team of approximately 18 people on the night shift (7pm–8am) following a 2-2-3 schedule at the Colfax, NC plant.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a safe workplace and fosters a safety mindset in all operations
- Follows and enforces all company policies, standards, and safety requirements
- Drives safety excellence through employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards
- Hires, schedules, and supervises full-time and temporary staff
- Provides coaching, corrective feedback, and administers disciplinary processes, including termination when necessary
- Conducts timely quarterly and annual performance reviews for all team members
- Facilitates team development, skill growth, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
- Oversees process documentation, training programs, workplace safety, and cleanliness
- Ensures production of a quality product and adherence to all quality processes
- Collaborates with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve quality, streamline efficiencies, and reduce operating expenses
- Tracks productivity, efficiency, and budget compliance using lean manufacturing and cross-training
- Ensures adherence to inventory control procedures to meet accuracy goals
- Assists with troubleshooting and resolving production issues
- Performs additional duties as requested by management
Requirements
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience required; manufacturing environment preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Basic mathematical skills, including calculating percentages and volumes
- Demonstrated leadership in safety and environmental compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to coach, develop, and build a strong team
- Strong listening and clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to effectively resolve conflict
- Skilled at working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environment
