Responsibilities
- Supervise, assign, and verify daily work of hourly production employees.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Monitor performance (attendance, safety, efficiency) and provide coaching, mentoring, and discipline as needed.
- Drive productivity, quality, and waste reduction across plant processes.
- Support environmental compliance and maintain production reliability.
- Coordinate daily production, maintenance scheduling, and inventory management.
- Foster positive employee relations and build a high-performing team environment.
- Track and report on production, safety, and operational performance metrics.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams and achieve results through others.
- Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and production compliance standards.
- Ability to learn plant systems and processes and use tracking/reporting tools.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., supervisory certificate, First Aid/CPR, Method 22).
