About the role
We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Interiors Team at our Bowling Green, Ohio location. The Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations, organize and direct subordinate groups performing manufacturing functions, and execute positive employee motivational programs while ensuring the maintenance of all company quality and quantity goals. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Direct activities of team lead(s) and production technicians on shift to meet Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale targets, including enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
- Act as the lead onsite contact person in the absence of the Production Senior Manager.
- Report daily on all plant KPIs, safety, production, and other metrics.
- Provide shop floor coverage, including breaking out team members, replenishing parts, assisting with issues, and supporting the team to meet KPI targets.
- Ensure proper management of the production facility through sound 5S programs.
- Develop, advise, train, support, and counsel subordinate group leaders and technicians.
- Implement tools and programs to streamline and simplify processes, increasing department management flexibility.
- Plan and monitor manpower requirements for manufacturing lines and department labor efficiencies.
- Lead problem-solving and troubleshooting for each production line, developing recovery and action plans.
- Assist management in overall planning, such as capacity and new launches.
- Monitor personnel issues, absenteeism, tardiness, and accident frequency, ensuring appropriate action is taken when necessary.
- Work with all departments (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, etc.) to improve processes, meet scrap targets, and address customer concerns.
- Create, develop, and maintain documentation used on the manufacturing floor.
- Communicate frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
- Comply with quality and environmental standards, procedures, and instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as directed by management.
Requirements
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a cross-functional team.
- Basic grammar and math skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work a standard forty-hour week with overtime as required by management.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- A High School diploma (GED), or
- An Advanced Degree in a related discipline and four-plus years of experience in a related field, or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and five-plus years of experience in a related field, or
- An Associate Degree in a related discipline and seven-plus years of experience in a related field, or
- Non-degreed with seven-plus years of experience in a related field.
- Certification or license may be required in some areas.
- Ability to work with integrated computer programs and applications (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation software).
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to enter and resolve conflictual situations.
- High willingness to make and drive decisions.
- Ability to translate business needs into strategic actions.
- Good planning and analytical skills.
- Dynamic and continuously looking for improvements.
