Production Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve performance, quality, safety, and productivity goals.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
  • Plan staffing and work assignments to maintain adequate production coverage and meet customer demands.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, and work habits; provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action as necessary.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development initiatives.
  • Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure production equipment is utilized effectively and communicate maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze production data, workflows, capacity, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and other departments to optimize operations and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct safety observations, audits, investigations, and employee training as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure products meet established quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Support problem-solving efforts and implementation of corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing, production, or industrial experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, or production planning systems.
  • Leverage of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
