Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve performance, quality, safety, and productivity goals.
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Plan staffing and work assignments to maintain adequate production coverage and meet customer demands.
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, and work habits; provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action as necessary.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development initiatives.
- Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
- Ensure production equipment is utilized effectively and communicate maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data, workflows, capacity, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and other departments to optimize operations and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety observations, audits, investigations, and employee training as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Ensure products meet established quality standards and customer requirements.
- Support problem-solving efforts and implementation of corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing, production, or industrial experience.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and workplace safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, or production planning systems.
- Leverage of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
