About the Role

As a Production Supervisor, you'll play a key leadership role in driving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead by example, empower employees, and ensure operations run smoothly while meeting customer expectations and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all team members follow plant policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees while holding team members accountable for quality, productivity, and operational standards.
  • Serve as the go-to problem solver, addressing production challenges quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.
  • Act as a vital communication link between employees and management, fostering collaboration, engagement, and transparency.
  • Partner with Production Planning to prioritize work, optimize workflow, and assign resources to meet production goals.
  • Coordinate material movement and availability to support daily production requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production performance throughout each shift, adjusting resources as needed.
  • Support employee training and development initiatives to build a highly skilled and capable workforce.
  • Maintain high standards of organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping throughout the facility.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to drive positive change.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to utilize information from multiple sources to achieve production and operational objectives.
  • Previous leadership experience in a corrugated box plant, printing operation, converting operation, paper mill, or similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in Business, Management, Supervision, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience in corrugated packaging or related manufacturing industries is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP and manufacturing systems such as SAP, KIWI, or similar business management software preferred.

Certifications

  • Emergency Response Team (ERT) certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, develop, and engage teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
