About the Site
Our Tupelo, Mississippi facility is a union manufacturing plant with approximately 55 employees, specializing in polyurethane foam and other foam products. The site emphasizes quality, safety, and operational excellence in a collaborative, supportive environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
About the Role
The Production Supervisor leads all aspects of departmental safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and employee performance within assigned production and fabrication areas. This role provides daily leadership to hourly associates and production specialists, coordinates production schedules, ensures compliance with SOPs and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Promote, enforce, and actively participate in company safety programs and site-specific safety policies.
- Supervise daily production and fabrication activities to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Review daily production requirements and assign labor accordingly.
- Monitor work-in-progress and finished goods to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate production schedules and workflow with other departments and shifts.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and material usage.
- Train, coach, and evaluate hourly associates and production specialists.
- Address performance issues and partner with HR on corrective actions as needed.
- Communicate production performance and KPIs to leadership.
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or fabrication experience with leadership responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality systems.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
