Production Supervisor

About the role
We are searching for a Production Supervisor to join our Production team and provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and is based in our Dixon, IL office. The role requires working 12-hour shifts. Selected supervisors will begin on an 8-hour schedule for training and support before transitioning to our 12-hour shift model.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all production lines operate at proper speeds and output levels while adhering to company quality policies and productivity standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all established health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Work with the Production Manager to assign personnel according to qualifications and establish shift schedules to meet production orders.
- Comprehend production schedules and provide completion estimates based on manpower and equipment availability.
- Troubleshoot and maintain machine functionality during shifts.
- Perform routine quality control procedures throughout the shift; report defects or quality concerns to management.
- Maintain accuracy of production reporting.
- Coach and train new hires on all machines and continually develop existing employees to build proficiency.
- Understand raw materials and verify the correct blend for each product line.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet facility and company needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of previous manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read measuring devices.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team, promote teamwork, and champion company culture.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
- General computer skills, including use of manufacturing software.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly.
- Must pass pre-employment screening, background check, physical, and drug screening (including marijuana).
Schedule
12-hour shifts (with an initial 8-hour training period).
