About the role
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is a central figure in the production environment, tasked with the management and guidance of production workers to meet set goals and uphold quality standards. Responsible for the coordination of various manufacturing and warehouse functions within a large, complex, and fast-paced food production facility to drive maximum financial results and deliver a quality on-time product for customers.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, direct operation activities on the shift and give appropriate feedback to employees.
- Build teams and assign accountability.
- Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork, quality, and safety.
- Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal, and State guidelines.
- Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)
- Responsible for all processes on the shift.
- Oversee activities including ordering, processing, packaging, and shipping of all plant products and services.
- May schedule production, schedule crews, order materials, and/or order supplies.
- Plan, delegate, and monitor progress on work assignments and special projects.
- Manage to assign financial budget targets—typically labor management, waste management, and efficiency.
- Utilize new technology and Lean manufacturing principles and processes available to maximize efficiency.
- Identify cost-cutting measures.
- Sanitation duties.
Requirements
- BS/BA Degree preferred in a related field. Experience may substitute for education.
- 2 or more years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing mass production environment.
- 1 or more years’ experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Must be available to be assigned to varying shifts.
- Proven understanding of production/operations/manufacturing requirements.
- Ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
- Ability to manage and develop employees.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Proven time management skills.
- Willingness to work overtime hours and holidays.
- Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.

Pay
$42/hr
Schedule
- Day shift: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm, Sunday–Thursday
- Grave shift: 9:30 pm – 6:00 am, Monday–Friday
