About the role

Responsible for the overall direction of an assigned production shift at a continuous casting facility, including production, safety, and inventory control. Supervises the concast crew on night shift, handling job assignments, maintenance, training, safety, and quality activities. Provides leadership, troubleshoots processes, and champions plant objectives. Conducts internal investigations, grievance meetings, and ensures compliance with company policies, SOPs, ISO standards, and safety regulations. Directly supervises lab and maintenance personnel on off-shifts and performs security watch on non-production weekends and holidays.

Schedule

Rotating 12-hour shift (7pm-7am).

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in safety, productivity, and quality initiatives.
  • Lead and motivate the workforce on assigned shift.
  • Troubleshoot processes and champion efforts toward overall plant objectives.
  • Conduct internal investigations and grievance meetings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, SOPs, and ISO standards.
  • Participate in and conform to the requirements of the Safety Management Systems.
  • Directly supervise lab personnel and maintenance personnel on off-shifts.
  • Comply with all safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Perform security watch on non-production weekends and holidays.
  • Conduct safety and training meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prefer an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment; prefer 3-5 years of supervisory experience, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Concast experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to work either an 8-hour, 5-day shift or a 12-hour continuous shift (days, evenings, or nights).
  • Some lifting required; ability to stand and walk the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment as required.

Skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a workforce.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and company-specific software.
