Production Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Daily decision-making responsibility for the cutting department, inclusive of scheduling, discipline, promotions, engagement, and issue resolution
• Work with Human Resources to address any HR-related concerns, issues, or tasks involving team members
• Observe all safety, health, and environmental procedures
• Ensure identification of material is maintained throughout the production process
• Receive instructions and necessary information from management and computer systems; receive and work from work orders, sketches, schedules, charts, blueprints, and verbal instructions
• Review each work order before starting the production process at the beginning of each shift to ensure all information is correct
• Operate various pieces of production equipment in order to intimately understand both the production process and equipment
• Direct and assist production crew daily
• Identify and remove waste from production processes
• Mentor and assist with training of team members on compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and operating procedures and the importance of customer focus
• Share knowledge on production processes and job duties to help others improve in their understanding, work performance, and satisfaction
• Measure and inspect parts using various inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.) to ensure conformance to product specifications
• Complete required operational data entry and maintain material traceability per operational requirements
• Assist maintenance during repair of equipment and furnaces as required
