Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all functions at our industrial food waste processing facility in Longview, WA. This position is safety-sensitive and requires a clear mind and diligence, with responsibility for personal safety as well as the safety of others.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, hire, and train Operators and Maintenance personnel; provide guidance and performance feedback
• Oversee shift-to-shift operations of the plant, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation
• Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing measures
• Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines
• Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance to assess equipment condition, facility cleanliness, and ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees
• Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics, to optimize plant performance and meet production targets
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Maintain inventory levels and coordinate material procurement to support production
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies at all times
• Prepare reports on plant performance, including production metrics, quality control data, and safety incidents

Physical Requirements

• Frequently drive a forklift, sit, hear or talk, use close vision, and use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Must be able to bend, stand, walk, sit, and kneel frequently
• Comfortable transitioning on and off a forklift while handling multiple tasks throughout a shift
• Comfortable operating equipment and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift
• Able to handle potential changes in temperature, humidity, and wetness in the working area

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years in an operations management role with hiring and people management
• Proven track record of leading production/processing systems
• Ability to work with ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions, analyzing data, and making balanced assessments
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with operating machinery and hand tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
