Summary To schedule timely arrangement of customer orders by producing new product or by pulling from stocked product in accord with shipping schedules.The production schedule must be structured in a manner that maximizes production efficiencies with large material runs/minimal downtime for changeovers and still meets customer needs.Reports to Plant ManagerEnsures safety of all employees on shiftSupervises employees, including employee hiring and retention, performance reviews, and disciplineProvides training and cross training for employeesCoordinates maintenance of equipment and PMsRuns schedule per scheduler's specificationsEnsures quality of all products produced and performs quality checksEnsures proper scanning by coil persons and truck driversOrientates new employeesInventory ManagementMaintains good housekeeping in areas assignedApproves hours of work and payrollProvides training to shop employeesEnforces all rules and regulations SAFETY Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational proceduresWears and maintains all required PPEKeeps assigned work area clean at all timesUnderstands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operationSafely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises leads and hourly manufacturing in the shop Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Mechanically Inclined.Detail orientatedAble to work in a team environmentStrong interest in continuous improvementAbility to work with offsite locations to resolve problemsStrong work ethicStrong oral and written communication skillsLeadership skillsProblem Solver Education And/Or Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business or related area preferred3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment1-2 years supervisory experienceThe military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience. Physical Requirements Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.Standing-8 or more hours per dayWalking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per dayBody Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both armsGrasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per daySitting- OccasionallyPushing Effort-OccasionallyPulling- OccasionallyClimbing (ladders/stairs)-Occasionally Mathematical Skills Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.
