About this position

The Citterio USA Production Supervisor oversees meat manufacturing operations, ensuring timely and efficient production, quality control, and team leadership.

Supervision Received

This position reports directly to the Manager of the Citterio USA department.

Supervision Exercised

This position provides direct supervision to Union employees working in the department assigned.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure timely and efficient production of products.
  • Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer orders and company objectives.
  • Ensure all production processes are in compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including OSHA and USDA standards.
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Promote and engage in a culture of safety.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support and embrace Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Manage waste and ensure efficient use of materials.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of necessary supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers and computer software, with ability to apply this aptitude in word processing, Excel spreadsheet development, and Word document merges, and keyboarding skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of proper records management, retention of records and cataloguing of files.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver innovative solutions.
  • High energy level, ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently.
  • Positive interpersonal skills included effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze comprehensive reports, carry out assignments, and administer existing and proposed programs.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a high school, or general equivalency diploma;
  • Experience with SAP preferred;
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing experience preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of meat processing techniques and equipment;
  • Experience with and understanding of HACCP, GMP, SQF and food safety regulations;
  • Leadership and team management skills.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
