Production Supervisor
About the role
The Production Supervisor oversees production areas, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. This role leads production teams, supports workflow execution, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals.
Responsibilities
Production Oversight & Schedule Execution: Supervise daily production activities, coordinate labor and resources, and communicate priorities and updates to employees and leadership.
Team Leadership & Employee Support: Provide day-to-day supervision, train employees, and support their development. Conduct shift start-up meetings and partner with the Production Manager on coaching and corrective action planning.
Quality & Process Compliance: Ensure employees follow work instructions and monitor product quality. Work with the Quality team to investigate non-conformances and support corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Support: Support continuous improvement initiatives, participate in lean manufacturing efforts, and assist with improving workflow efficiency.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Promote a safe work environment, enforce safety policies, and address unsafe conditions. Participate in safety walks and audits.
Materials, Inventory & Floor Coordination: Help ensure production areas have necessary materials and support efficient material flow. Communicate shortages and concerns to relevant teams.
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key communicator between production employees and leadership. Collaborate with various departments to support daily operations.
Accountability: Set clear expectations, hold team members accountable, and foster a culture of ownership and urgency.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or additional manufacturing/technical training preferred.
3+ years of manufacturing experience required, with prior leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with responsibility for meeting schedules and quality expectations.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, safety practices, and quality standards.
Ability to coach employees, manage priorities, and respond effectively to changing production needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with production-related systems or reporting tools.
