Production Supervisor
About the role
We are seeking a Production/Plant Supervisor for one of our 7 Dry Ice facilities. The Production Supervisor will guide Plant Operators in tasks such as production, packaging of dry ice, shipping preparation, and loading/unloading products in commercial trucks. They will coordinate and guide the safe start-up, shutdown, and efficient operation of the dry ice plant. They will coordinate with local branches to ensure production resources (labor, materials, and equipment) match production demand. They will communicate operational status on a continual basis to the Plant and Branch Managers. They will interview and welcome new production associates to the team. They will complete written evaluations and annual reviews of production associates. They will guide, develop, and mentor production associates to foster alignment and compliance with Airgas policies and procedures. They will track supply inventories to ensure that proper materials are on-hand for production needs. They will know and comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures. They will identify and collaborate to resolve all safety hazards and quality deficiencies. They will operate a forklift on an occasional basis to meet production needs.

Requirements
- A High School diploma combined with extensive experience, specifically including three (3) years of supervising 10+ production workers in an industrial setting.
- Strong decision-making skills to enforce company policies, plant procedures, and discipline staff in a fair, professional manner.
- Very good written/verbal communication for basic reports, plus organizational skills to manage personnel files, time tracking, and inventory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email) and higher-level math skills necessary for budgeting and cost control.
Qualifications
- Ability to work and lead a team safely in a noisy environment with elevated CO2 vapor, including the physical capability to occasionally lift 5–50 lb. Dry Ice blocks.
Skills
- Knowledge of operating specific ice plant machinery (block presses, saws, pelletizers, and valves).
- An active forklift certification.
