Production Supervisor - Assembly Off Shift

What you will be doing:

• Supports, promotes and adheres to all Company Safety policies and initiatives with team.
• Coincides material flow with other departments and logistics.
• Provides guidance, direction and monitors performance to medium sized groups (15 – 45) of hourly employees.
• Maintains time and production records for all direct reports.
• Keeps management informed of progress, developments and pending problems and recommends plans and solutions.
• Assigns and monitors work of hourly employees.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions (or "assists" in).
• Responds to customer concerns.
• Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates, outputs and worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Interprets company policy to workers and enforces safety regulations while complying with terms of MTU and regulatory policies.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management or equivalent and 3 years’ hourly supervision or manufacturing experience; or 7 years hourly supervision or manufacturing experience.
• Must be available to work all shifts and/or flexible hours.
• The training will occur on 1st shift from 6am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday for the first few weeks. After training is successfully completed, the night shift schedule will be from 7:30pm to 6am, Sunday through Wednesday. The off-shift hours are eligible for shift premium pay.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with computer applications and/or controlled systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

Work Conditions:

• This position has a compressed work schedule (Sunday through Wednesday 10 hours per day).
• Routine overtime is expected as business needs require.
• This is an off-shift position and hour range is still to be determined from 7:30 pm to 6:00 am.
• While performing tasks for this position, the employee is regularly requested to perform work on a computer inside and occasionally outside of the work environment.
• Also, the employee will occasionally be required to work in environmental conditions where there are fumes and dust.
• Finally, the employee will be frequently requested to perform tasks in environmental conditions where there are unpleasant odors and gases.
• Please note, the conditions can be hazardous.
• While performing physical demands of the position, occasionally the employee will be occasionally requested to stand, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and squat.
• Also, the employee will be regularly requested to sit within a particular work environment.
