Production Supervisor (85644)

About the role

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead continuous improvement for safety, quality, and processes. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment, preferably in aerospace, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Affirm that all operations are conducted safely and ensure all safety equipment is operational.
• Be knowledgeable about departmental equipment and report malfunctions to engineering.
• Proficient in the company's ERP system (SAP).
• Participate in and lead safety drills.
• Assign and coordinate work within the production area.
• Maintain proper staffing levels to meet production goals.
• Administer personnel policies and procedures for assigned staff.
• Oversee Lead staff and assist them when necessary.
• Monitor department performance in terms of labor and system transactions.
• Foster a motivating environment to keep the team aligned towards performance objectives.
• Issue corrective action or performance improvement plans as necessary.
• Partner with leads to evaluate the crew for future opportunities and offer developmental training.
• Monitor crew training progress, assess individual needs, and communicate these to HR.
• Communicate with other departments as needed for the department's performance.
• Coordinate with planning on upcoming production schedules.
• Assist Leads in meeting the schedule.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment, preferably in aerospace.
• Preferably with experience in a supervisory role in the aerospace (commercial or defense) industry.
• Fabrication assembly experience in a manufacturing environment; knowledge with composite materials is preferred.
• Experience implementing Lean Six Sigma, 5S best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective and proper communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proven technical aptitude.
