Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe working conditions and practices in the Thermoforming, Padding, Reclaim and Lamination Departments.
  • Reviews attendance (timecards and calendars).
  • Counsels/coaches associates per work performance and attendance guidelines.
  • Completes performance reviews.
  • Presents strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Establishes a good labor relations climate within the departments by adequately answering employee complaints, suggestions, and questions.
  • Recommends changes in existing personnel policies or new policies as needed to aid in maintaining morale and discipline in all areas.
  • Trains and instructs Production Technicians and assists them in overcoming the problems encountered on their jobs, and evaluates their performance as required.
  • Maintains a work force sufficient to meet the production requirements of the division and plans additional reductions to this work force far enough in advance to minimize personnel procurement difficulties.
  • Maintains all plant policies and procedures in the department.
  • Aids technicians and other supervisors in diagnosing operating difficulties and refers problems beyond the control of the department to Engineering, Maintenance, or Quality Control, as applicable.
  • Originates and assigns projects as necessary to the technicians and consults with the Plant Superintendent regarding the progress and effectiveness of these projects.
  • Consults with the Process Engineering and/or Plant Engineering Departments regarding projects beyond the scope of the supervisor and aids in carrying out such projects.
  • Establishes department goals and directs activities within all areas to insure the attainment of these goals.
  • Directs the department’s operations in such a manner as to attain manufacturing cost standards.
  • Establishes work plans to insure maximum productivity at minimum manufacturing costs.
  • Coordinates effective scheduling of departments operations to provide the optimum balance of finished goods inventory and sales demands.
  • Ensures the establishment of quality standards in the Thermoforming, Padding, Reclaim and Lamination departments.
  • Performs general responsibilities of NPX ONE management positions.
  • Displays good organizational skills and ability to maintain good documentation practices.
  • Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Associates Degree or higher in Business Management or related field preferred.
  • Must have the ability to understand verbal and written basic English vocabulary.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Ability to systematically work through problems, can work with deadlines individually or as part of a team.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Willing and able to become First Aid Certified.

  • Frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Must be able to work proficiently in a typical manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
