How Will You Make an Impact?

As a Production Supervisor – 2nd shift Weekend at our Memphis, TN facility, you will lead the large team to ensure production schedules are met and quality standards are consistently achieved. You will provide strong people leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight while driving continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will directly influence production performance, team engagement, and operational excellence.

What Will You Do?

  • Led recruitment and retention efforts by recruiting, interviewing, and hiring technical assemblers. Partnered with recruiters to clearly communicate candidate criteria. Coached team members on effective interviewing and hiring practices. Monitored turnover, identified root causes, and implemented retention improvements.

  • Developed and maintained training curriculum. Coached and mentored Machine Support staff to deliver operational excellence. Developed and managed succession plans for the Machine Support and Machine Shop functions.

  • Established clear, measurable performance goals and objectives aligned to operational metrics, timelines, training, attendance, and development goals. Gathered feedback from various stakeholders to support development discussions. Provided continuous coaching, counseling, and recognition to team members. Conducted timely and professional performance evaluations.

  • Drives continuous improvement in key operational metrics and organizational objectives. Coordinated activities of large teams and maintained focus during critical situations. Ensured recognition and rewards were administered fairly and consistently.

  • Created forums for the exchange of ideas and information within the department. Communicated clearly and professionally using appropriate verbal and written methods. Encouraged open dialogue and input from team members. Adapted communication style to meet the needs of diverse team members.

  • Oversee the maintenance management program, including repair parts, preventive maintenance, feeder maintenance, and support equipment maintenance. Planned and coordinated technical staff activities to support production needs. Developed and maintained department reports and records. Supervised planning and execution of line moves and production builds. Scheduled equipment vendors for installation, repairs, upgrades, and updates. Ensured work instructions and procedures were efficient, effective, and non-redundant. Identified and implemented best-in-class practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrated a strong commitment to customer service by resolving issues quickly and effectively. Led by example and promoted accountability across the team. Utilized Jabil's Advanced Engineering Group to support production objectives. Developed and implemented performance measurement systems where applicable. Adhered to all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Complied with all company security policies and procedures.

How Will You Get Here?

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. 3+ years of experience in supervising teams in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Hands-on experience with a technical assembly environment and processes. Strong knowledge of: Process optimization, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT), Demand Flow Technology (line balancing), Design of Experiments (DOE), Working knowledge of engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering as applicable final assembly operations. Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and team-building skills.
