Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Drive employee engagement, training, and NES deployment
  • Hold Team Leads and all team members accountable to sustain 5S in all areas of their department(s) (5S= Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Maintain and coordinate production schedule to include managing OT and headcount needs
  • Supervise and develop Team Leads; complete performance reviews, identify personnel and overtime requirements; work with management on staffing resolutions; address employee relation concerns; manage direct reports time keep and vacation in organization’s time keep program
  • Enforce policy compliance; manage Team Leads and team members performance through Nelson Discipline process
  • Facilitate in partnership with safety leadership, near miss investigations, safety, and employee incidents
  • Recommend, drive and support Continuous Improvement projects
  • Ensure employee satisfaction and follow up on employee relations concerns. This includes overseeing performance evaluations for consistency and fairness to company standards and expectations and between teams
  • Work with HR around employee issues, investigation, and policy conformance
  • Keep department(s) safe and Clean (5S= Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Provide leadership with production and financial information as requested to ensure we meet our business needs
  • Complete timely and accurate paperwork
  • Delegate responsibilities as needed

Required Education & Experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Min of 2-3 years’ experience in a supervision or leadership role

Preferred Experience

  • Experience developing leaders is preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • The ability to attend and complete Training on off hours. Complete Mandatory Leadership classes
  • Proficiency in reading and writing
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing work
  • A common approach to continuous improvement
  • A team player with a very positive attitude, willing to be a champion of change
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with people at all levels of the organization
