Responsibilities
- Plan and lead production processes and personnel on various shifts during manufacturing/assembly.
- Partner with Production Manager, Production Planning, and Materials departments to establish production priorities and plans.
- Direct production operations using knowledge of processes, equipment capabilities, and skilled labor to meet scheduled requirements.
- Analyze production schedules to estimate work requirements and adjust operations accordingly.
- Assist Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering in testing, troubleshooting, and improving production methods and equipment performance.
- Advise managers on production issues and suggest changes to working conditions, procedures, and equipment use.
- Meet or exceed goals for safety, labor efficiencies, schedule attainment, scrap, rework, and other production metrics.
- Initiate and implement plans to motivate, empower, and develop workers to achieve team goals.
- Supervise and assist in setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated machines and assembly equipment.
- Conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations for promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Expedite critically needed products by performing necessary operations to meet production plans.
- Implement lean techniques such as 5S, standardized work, waste elimination, value stream mapping, and total productive maintenance.
Requirements
- Three to five years’ experience in a union manufacturing facility.
Skills
- Strong Microsoft Office and HRIS skills.
- Proven ability to execute performance objectives and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Relationship-building and strong communication skills.
