Production Supervisor - 1st Shift

This position is onsite at our GEIS Headquarters in Syracuse, NY. Relocation is not provided. The 1st shift hours are 6AM - 2:30PM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily team stand-up meetings with all department personnel in areas of responsibility.
• Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.
• Drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance.
• Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems, and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
• Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standardized work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
• Ensure assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instructions, and tools to successfully perform their jobs.
• Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory, and lead-times, ensuring alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies.
• Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements to meet customer deadlines.

Requirements

• Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience.
• Must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related field of study from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.).
• Three (3) years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
• Foundry experience.
• Experience with SAP business system.
• Experience with Microsoft Office platform.
• Experience with Union environments.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement projects.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
