Production Supervisor (1st Shift)

Responsibilities
- Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and is responsible for the success of those lines.
- Evaluates daily/regular plant operating performance and advises on changes to improve efficiencies and quality.
- Leads a team of professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes operational problems and advises on their resolution.
- Guides regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
- Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with engineers to develop project proposals.
- Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
- May act as the principal interface between the operations team and the maintenance function.
- Engages in training and coaching of junior operators.
- Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
- Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
- Assists in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of control points, equipment, and resources; ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and manufacturing standards.
Requirements
- Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards.
- General knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary understanding of Flex policies and procedures.
- Awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
- Ability to operate telephones, data entry, and office software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
- Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
