Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations for assigned shift, including meeting established safety, quality, line efficiency, yield, cost per case, and customer service goals/standards
  • Oversee hourly employees: hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training and development, performance evaluations, and approval/maintenance of attendance/hours worked records
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems
  • Review material transactions and complete production work orders
  • Enforce safety and housekeeping rules and policies
  • Supervise 10+ hourly employees
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals
  • Maintain employee work schedules, including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off
  • Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s Degree with 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a production setting preferred
  • Experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry and/or high-speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in department cost control and budget management
  • Strong leadership capability—ability to motivate and influence others
  • Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experience

Working Conditions

  • Constant exposure to extreme loud noises
  • Constant standing and moving by foot
  • Constant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environments
  • Constant work in high places and near moving mechanical parts
  • Frequent lifting/carrying under 50 pounds, reaching, and use of fingers
  • Frequent reaching, pulling, bending, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and bending
  • Occasional lifting over 50 pounds
  • Potential exposure to caustic chemicals

Schedule

2-2-3 rotation of days off
