About the role

The Production Superintendent provides operational support to the Small Molecule Manufacturing production plants. Key focus areas include managing manufacturing and process changeovers to meet production schedules, collaborating with teams to reduce errors, increase efficiency, lower costs, and improve product quality, and supporting departmental ESHS (Environment, Safety, Health, and Security) activities to minimize injuries and process safety hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate changeover activities to ensure conformance with production schedules.
  • Work with operating personnel, supervision, and support teams to identify and implement initiatives that reduce errors, increase efficiency, lower operational costs, and improve product quality.
  • Support and adhere to ESHS programs to eliminate or reduce injuries and process safety hazards.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide support for operator development and training.
  • Ensure compliance with fundamental cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years of manufacturing or manufacturing technical support experience.
  • A BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide tactical leadership to achieve common objectives with broad impact.
  • Some supervisory experience desired, including coaching employees to improve performance.
  • Strong knowledge of Small Molecule Manufacturing business processes.
  • Proven ability to motivate and mentor others within the department and Small Molecule Manufacturing area.
  • Ability to identify and improve business processes by analyzing data, developing countermeasures, implementing action plans, and monitoring results.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility in hours is required, as the role supports a 24/7/365 manufacturing plant.
