PRODUCTION SHOP MANAGER

About the role

DKP Wood Railings and Stairs specializes in custom staircases and railing systems across Long Island and the NYC area. We are looking for an experienced and well-organized Production Shop Manager to manage daily operations in our production shop. This role focuses on supervising shop staff, managing workflow, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring all fabricated components meet quality standards and deadlines. The ideal candidate has hands-on production experience, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of woodworking and fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations in the shop
• Manage and supervise shop staff, ensuring productivity and quality
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize production orders
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and installation teams
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and maintained
• Monitor quality, craftsmanship, and safety standards
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve processes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Track production progress and report to management

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a relevant role
• Strong background in woodworking, carpentry, or custom fabrication
• Experience managing teams and production schedules
• Ability to read drawings, measurements, and specifications
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• High attention to detail and quality
• Knowledge of shop safety standards and equipment

Full-time Monday through Friday
