About the role

This role is for a Production Shift Supervisor in the Reprocessing area of our Terre Haute, IN facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a production team in processing various types of plastic through shredders/grinders for preparation to sell or reprocess.
  • Work within a team environment and be individually motivated to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Promote plant safety and environmental programs and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility grounds and structures to identify and initiate corrective action for safety and environmental discrepancies and physical and systems discrepancies.
  • Cook up manufacturing activities to ensure production and product quality meet specifications.
  • Inspect equipment and product to ensure optimum safety, utilization, and quality.
  • Communicate with all employees concerning safety, scheduling, problem-solving, overtime, vacations, and training.
  • Review and support master scheduling process to meet production needs.
  • Plan process activities and follow established priorities regarding procedures, equipment capabilities, process team performance, and staffing levels.
  • Review, analyze, and act to correct non-conformance in safety, production, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead, coach, and support line process teams to improve quality, increase flexibility and reduce costs.
  • Conduct required team meetings and safety training.
  • Provide feedback to hourly employees on job performance.
  • Promote and implement our Core Values daily.
  • Understand and work well with team members, both in operations & support teams.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • One-year supervisory experience is required.
  • Previous experience working in the plastics industry is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and work well with team members, both in operations & support teams.

Skills

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or shift work with a strong work ethic and employment history.
  • A self-motivated individual that can multi-task and lead others.
