Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews operations of proceeding shift, including status of jobs and equipment, production schedules, job change requirements and availability of all materials.
- Checks for proper machine operation, packers, printers, and miscellaneous operations.
- Covers daily assignments of employees.
- On second & third shifts coordinates and directs maintenance and quality control.
- Covers the training of new employees on all equipment.
- Involved with the daily monitoring Statistical Process Control utilizing Infinity QS on all designated processes with responsibility that process meet agreed upon dimensional capabilities for Cp/Cpk.
- Adheres to all quality objectives and ensures quality standards are met.
- Maintains production records utilizing SAP for production monitoring and verifies accuracy.
- Maintains time and attendance system functions for employee’s working on their designated shift including the tracking of employee attendance points.
- Ensures that employees comply with plant health, safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Supports GMS initiative through team participation.
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of employee time and attendance system.
- Cooperates internally with Plant Manager, Production Manager, Machine Operators, Production Workers, Quality Control and Maintenance personnel.
- Cooperates externally with customers, vendors and other Gerresheimer facilities.
- Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements.
- Wears safety glasses required in Production and Warehouse areas. Hair/Beard nets, hearing protection, and lab coats required in Production areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associates Degree in Management or Engineering
- Three – Five years’ experience in related manufacturing experience
- Experience in directing and supervising employees
- Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow established technical and administrative procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Mobile Equipment Licenses (Forklift)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Statistical Process Control
- Able to read blueprints
- Use of calipers and gauges
Communication
- Must possess strong communication skills in written, verbal and presentation form.
- Ability to effectively communicate professionally and tactfully with all levels of management across all functional areas.
- Ability to present financial concepts to non-financial personnel, influence and persuade key stakeholders.
