About the role

As a member of the production team at Meyer Utility Structures, you’ll work with a great group of people who really care about the job you do. As a Production Operator, you’ll follow specific instructions to perform a variety of routine manual labor tasks or assist skilled workers in simple production, process, or maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist other skilled workers involved in the production of concrete poles including fabrication, demolding, finishing, and assembly by a variety of functions such as assembling and placing component parts, sorting, and counting, cleaning, sweeping, storing of tools, and other tasks as needed
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, production manuals, and work instructions
• Participate in inventories of materials and supplies
• Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
• Follow all safety practices, procedures, and protocols
• Become involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile equipment as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• Basic understanding of a manufacturing work environment
• Ability to work daily overtime and weekends if needed
• Ability to work in different weather conditions (hot/cold)
• The ability to maintain good attendance
• The ability to be a strong team member
