Responsibilities
- Assists with achieving daily production demand and ensuring the make of high-quality products.
- Ensures proper sanitation procedures are followed and accurately documented.
- Assures safety, quality, and performance objectives are met.
- Trains and becomes proficient in cheese batcher, barrel dumper, ingredient batcher, loading belt / track, and sanitation procedures.
- Follows safety and food quality rules (OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, etc.).
- Creates a positive, team-focused work environment.
- Improves job tasks and skills.
- Works in all processing areas (batching, dumping, ingredient prep, etc.).
- Checks cheese for mold or contamination and discards if needed.
- Moves ingredients to staging areas and keeps storage areas clean and organized.
- Weighs cheese accurately using a scale.
- Completes training on forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Follows all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas after production.
- Reports quality or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Works closely with the Quality team.
- Safeguards a safe, respectful workplace.
- Helps with additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to push 500lb. barrels of cheese on a track.
- Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check.
- Work in a food plant environment.
- Adhere to all food and plant safety policies and regulations.
- Work with chemicals for cleaning purposes.
- Atmosphere may be wet and hot during sanitation procedures.
