Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Inspect completed mechanical and electrical assemblies for compliance with engineering and quality specifications using visual and measurement techniques.
- Inspect in-process production and incoming components from suppliers; document and communicate nonconformances.
- Audit internal and external quality audits and lead investigations on basic production quality issues.
- Calibrate, maintain, and properly use inspection tools, fixtures, and measurement instruments, including CMM equipment.
- Complete quality reports and accurately communicate inspection results to manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing processes and supplier performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Comply with quality policies and procedures to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, and achievement of business goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track manufacturing and supplier quality performance; prepare and evaluate data for management review.
Qualifications
- Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Two-year degree in mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a light industrial, manufacturing, or machine shop environment
- Experience with precision parts and assemblies preferred
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, PPAP, SPC, and lean manufacturing principles preferred
Skills And Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Proficiency using measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicator gauges, and CMM equipment
- Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, manufacturing processes, and statistical process control
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
- Ability to use hands for inspection, assembly, and tool operation
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials in accordance with company lifting standards
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Moderate noise levels for limited periods
- Required PPE and safety training provided by the company
Compensation
Hourly Range: $17.30 – $25.90 (Compensation is based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, location, and market alignment.)
